Attending our Summer Reading Program is a great way to ensure your children reduce learning loss and increase reading skills over the summer months!! Pick up your reading logs, meet your reading goal and win prizes!

 

Summer Reading Programming Schedule

All programs will be held at the Crossroads Branch except for a Deerassic Park Program and our FINALE!

 

Family Programs-

Summer Reading KICK-OFF, Monday June 16th, 6:30pm.  Be prepared to get wet at this program co-hosted by the Cambridge Fire Department. Wear your bathing suit, 'cause you are going to get drenched!!

 

Family LEGO Party, Monday June 23rd, 6:30-7:30pm. Let's build, folks!!

 

 Deerassic Park Family Program-Monday, June 30th, 6:30-7:30pm. Let's have fun and learn about the outdoors from the great staff at Deerasic Park! 

 

Slithery Friends Family Program-Monday, July 7th, 6:30-7:30pm. Join local naturalist John Hickenbottom as he teaches us about natures critters.

 

Wednesday Programs-

Miss Donna's Class, (2 1/2-Kindergarten) and Miss Mary's Class, (1st-5th Grade), join us as we  "Fizz, Boom Read"! 

Classes are held on June 18h & 25th and July 2nd,July 9th & 16th from 10:00-11:00am OR 1:00-2:00pm.  Activities include fun-filled-crafts, stories, games-while also promoting literacy!  We will also doing some fun experiments this summer-Elephant Toothpaste, Ooey Gooey Slime, and Stink Bombs!!

Registration is necessary for our Wednesday Programs

 

Scholastic Book Fair

Wednesday, June 25th, 11am-12:00pm and 2pm-5pm

Thursday, June 26th, 10am-2pm and 3pm-5pm

Books for children and teens, posters and cool stuff for school will be available. Buying from the Book Fair helps us purchase more books for you to check out!

 

Baby Time Programs-

Tuesday, June 24th, 1:00-1:30pm

Tuesday, July 8th, 10:00-10:30am, with Help Me Grow.

Thursday, July 17th, 1:00-1:30am  Programs include stories, knee bouncing learning games and other early literacy building activities!

 

Other Programs @ Crossroads-

Outer Space Program for Kindergarten-5th Grade students, Thursday, June 19th, 1:00-2:00pm. Enjoy some activities courtesy of NASA and presented by Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland. Make no mistake-this event is for both girls and boys!

Energy Bridges-Kindergarten-Adult, Tuesday, June 24th, 6:30-7:30pm. Learn about energy sources via demonstrations and activities!!

 

Explode with 4-H for Kindergarten-5th Grade students, Thursday, June 26th, 1:00-2:00pm. Join Leslies Jirles from the OSU Extension Agency as she presents another fun and interactive program!

Registration begins June 2nd! 

 

Readers Theater for 1st-5th Grade students-

Auditions: June 27th-1:00-3:00pm

Practice: July 11th-1:00-3:00pm

Performance: July 14th-6:30-7:30pm

LEGO Day for Kindergarten-5th Grade students, 2:00-3:00pm. Build! Build! Build!

 

Get Excited about Conservation Program for Kindergarten-5th grade  students. Thursday, July 10th, 1:00-2:00pm. This program will be hosted by the Guernsey Soil and Water Conservation Gurus!

 

Kids Movie Day-Tuesday, July 15th, 2:00-4:00pm. Activies relating to the movie will be presented by Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland.

 

Giving Back with Ronald McDonald for Kindergarten -5th Grade students, Friday, July 18th, 2:00-3:00pm.

 

Summer Reading Finale-

@ the Cambridge City Park Large Pavillion-Wednesday, July 23rd, 10:45am. This family program is open to all participants and their families! Singer Zak Morgan will be our feature entertainer.
